Information technology and organizational performance of SMEs in northeastern Mexico
Abstract
Information technologies represent an element of rapid evolution, adopted by companies as a determining factor to face competition within an industry. THerefore, the purpose of this research is to determine the impact of the implementation of information technologies on the performance of small and medium-sized companies in the northeast of Mexico. In this sense, the internal environment is investigated to these companies, assuming as central analysis dimensions the operation of the market and the performance, constituted both by precise constructs in each case. THe methodological design is of a quantitative nature with exploratory scope. A factorial analysis is performed on the collected data, from a sample composed of 106 small and medium-sized companies in the tertiary sector of northeastern Mexico, with a sampling error of 8%, and a confidence level of 90%. THe results give relevance to the benefits that the adoption of Information Technologies brings in small and medium enterprises, concluding that Information Technologies favor performance in the small and medium companies studied.
