Strategic planning for the territorial development of the Esmeraldas Province in Ecuador
Abstract
Various factors have influenced territorial development and its reality for several decades, where planning is considered a key process for management. The objective of this research is to study the strategic planning for the territorial development of the Esmeraldas-Ecuador province, as a fundamental category the subjects and the designed plans are addressed. The type of investigation is descriptive documentary under a qualitative approach, specifically some normative considerations were addressed in Ecuador. Among the results stand out that planning is a State policy in this country, as a fundamental pillar for the articulation and coordination of efforts of public and private actors, to achieve the economic reactivation of the various dynamic sectors of the economy; Likewise, a road map was developed developing territorial marketing strategies, promoting diplomacy, development in production chains and attracting national or foreign investment. It is concluded that, generating different alternatives to consolidate territorial competitiveness, considering public and private actors as strategic allies, makes strategic planning a tool for decision-making that facilitates political will, a key factor for structural changes and achieving results. sustainable, to make Esmeraldas a Development Pole.
