3 XYLARIACEOUS FUNGI WITH SCOLECOSPOROUS-CONIDIA
Abstract
The scolecosporous anamorphs of Lopadostoma turgidum, Creosphaeria sassafras comb. nov., and a fungus close to `'Nummularia'' viridis are described and illustrated from culture. Both L. turgidum and `'Nummularia'' sp. produce slimy conidia in definite conidiomata. Creosphaeria sassafras produces slimy conidia from mycelia and from stromatic structures: The placement of these fungi in the Xylariaceae and their resemblance to certain Diatrypaceae is discussed.
