Abstract
This article asks about the methodological elements reported in scientific research articles in the area of media communication and its legal regulation in Mexico. The Journals objects of study were: Ambitos; Comunicacion y Hombre; Comunicacion y Sociedad; Razon y Palabra; Global Media Journal, and Revista Latina de Comunicacion Social; all contained in the Network of Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal Scientific Journals. Sampling accounted for a total of 25 articles. The publication with the greatest number of articles of investigative type in the area of interest of this study, was the Revista Latina de Comunicacion Social (Latin Journal of Social Communication), regarding the approach of the subject outstanding Razon y Palabra (Rason and Word). In general, these journals publish essays, theoretical articles, reviews and in less quantity results of research articles. The most referenced theories are: Agenda Setting, Social Representations, Positivism, Economic Development Model, Political Economy of Communication
