ResumenSexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infections are health problems that continue to increase especially in states that share borders. Migrants are a vulnerable group with little access to health care services. The development of trust and coping is the degree to which there is a pattern indicating that the individuals involved are experiencing an increase in their level of confidence to engage in a particular behavior, hence there is a great need for a valid instrument that assesses the Coping with Sexual Risk in Migrants. The objective of this work was to test the reliability and validity of an instrument adapted to the context of sexuality. It was used with 301 migrants from two border cities between Mexico and the United States. The instrument presented a Cronbach's Alpha of.89, Kaiser-Meyer- Olkin (KMO) = 0.907, Bartlett's sphericity test (X2 = 3070.954; gl = 66, p < 0.000) and factor analysis with two-factor varimax rotation that resulted in good scores and explained 74.33% of the total variance. It can be concluded that the adaptation of the questionnaire for the migrant population is valid and reliable.es_ES
