ResumenThe present research study characterizes the impact of work environment, job satisfaction, and commitment on employees’ work performance at the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas (Mexico). The approach is quantitative, not experimental, and explanatory. The sample consists of 127 respondents who agreed to answer the questionnaire. The results show that one dimension alone, “organizational structure of work environment,” explains staff performance at the educational institution examined. Revealing that job satisfaction and organizational commitment and support do not contribute to staff performance. These findings show the importance of implementing practices that promote and strengthen effective actions to delineate an organizational structure that enhances job performance. It is concluded that the dimension organizational structure is of great relevance for human resources managing practices.es_ES
