Perception of the quality of education: An applied case to students of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León and Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey

ResumenThis paper analyzes the perception of the quality of higher education in the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León and the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, the top-ranked universities in the Mexican state of Nuevo Leon. We conducted a structural survey inside and outside the premises of the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey and Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León. We then applied a structural equation model to the results of the survey, in order to gauge studentś perceptions of the quality of the various offerings of these institutions. Among key results, we found that students from Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey give greater weight to the modern facilities and technological innovation in the classroom, while students from Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León place greater value on the level of academic preparation of faculty.es_ES
