ResumenThe use of virtual classrooms is considered an innovative factor as an alternative to generate quality education, evidencing the teacher-student relationship for the construction of new teaching and learning processes. For the present investigation, the objective of analyzing the management of academic performance in students with the use of virtual classrooms of the Bachelor of Medical Surgeon of the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas, of Tampico-Mexico, was defined. Based on a longitudinal descriptive methodology, 463 university students were referenced as a sample. The results made it possible to determine that the development of student performance is not affected from virtuality, there is no significant difference between the general average of the students before and after the use of the virtual classroom. Despite not finding significant differences in the averages obtained, the grades of the students who took the online courses show that the use of the virtual classroom opens a variety of opportunities to achieve the objectives of the teaching-learning process.es_ES
