ResumenThis chapter examines the implementation of inverse logistics systems in industrial contexts, focusing on their strategic relevance, operational challenges, and value creation potential. It critically analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of adopting inverse logistics, highlighting benefits such as cost savings, environmental compliance, and customer satisfaction, as well as drawbacks such as system complexity, high investment requirements, and organizational barriers. To support effective implementation, this chapter proposes a structured seven-phase methodology encompassing strategic alignment, return flow analysis, network design, process and technology integration, collaborative schemes, performance measures, and integration into a circular economy. Each phase is detailed to guide practitioners through key decisions and integration steps. The chapter concludes that inverse logistics can enhance sustainability and competitive positioning, but its success depends on cross-functional coordination, process formalization, and continuous improvement. By aligning inverse logistics with broader supply chain and environmental strategies, industrial firms can convert return flows into strategic assets within a circular economy framework.es_ES
