Prospects for social and rural development in Mexico
Abstract
Rural development in Mexico in the XXI century is still a debt that is owed to the populations of rural areas; undoubtedly care and progress in these areas is a priority need to improve the quality of life of its inhabitants, who are considered vulnerable groups with lack of basic services. The study aims to identify the prospects for social development in rural Mexico specifically in the northeast of the State of Tamaulipas; considering aspects such as government participation, health, gender equity, migration, among others. The methodology used refers to a descriptive exploratory study of mixed type. Among the most notable results are the lack of security in rural areas; Government-type support programs do not impact people's quality of life. Furthermore, the cultural aspect is the main barrier to the development of women in the various aspects of life. It is concluded that public policies, established by the various orders of governments, whether federal, state or municipal in Mexico, in order to generate well-being and development in rural areas, are disjointed.
