Abstract

The health contingency caused by COVID 19 has represented important challenges and challenges for health professionals in the performance of their work due to the complex situations, levels of exhaustion and emotional reactions they experience in the face of this disease, circumstances under which Work commitment and duty take precedence over their own personal safety. In this sense, the present research aims to analyze the organizational commitment of health professionals in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, since it is the personnel assigned to these work centers who present the highest degree of vulnerability, impacting their psychological state and mental health. The study is approached under a quantitative approach, descriptive in scope, by applying the questionnaire proposed by Allen and Meyer. The participation sample is made up of 235 workers from the medical, paramedical, and administrative areas of a public health institution located in Tamaulipas, Mexico. The main results are a high organizational commitment on the part of the surveyed personnel, which motivates the management of good labor practices to correspond to their commitment to the organization in the current conditions in which they perform their function.
