Abstract

Talking about a circular economy means mentioningissues such as sustainability, waste minimization and,in the long term, economic development. This researchused a qualitative paradigm of a documentary reviewtype to find the relationship between nature tourismand the circular economy from scientific databases.The Scopus database was used for the quality of itseditorial processes and the VOSviewer software to makebibliometric networks visible. Three clusters with researchtrends were identified: Circular economy for development,Responsible tourism, and Sustainable challenges. The firstcluster shows a direct relationship between the circulareconomy, profitability, and job creation. Regarding thesecond cluster, the need for social awareness in the tourismsector as a factor of responsibility with both internal andexternal clients could be observed. While the third clusterhighlights the challenges of this association and the wayto contribute to the objective of sustainable development1, called the end of poverty, in addition to the need toimplement digital transformation in new business models.
