Research on graphic design: a systematic literature review

Abstract

This article explores the contributions of research on or for graphic design in publications of impact articles (2012-2022) with the aim of identifying criticism and historical research of graphic design from the study of styles, influences, models and approaches of application. The systematized literature review was the first step to shape and filter the documentary base (N=100) and develop an analysis framework. The results indicate that research has increased in the last 10 years, along with the appearance of specialized magazines in the area and its emphasis is focused on historiographic studies.
