Abstract

Artificial neural networks (RNA) have presented an important role with the entry of the fourth industrial revolution and new technologies to solve problems in different areas of industrial engineering. Although the fourth industrial revolution is closely linked to industrial engineering, neural networks are very complex compared to traditional methods of process control or optimization of industrial processes. Very little is known about this technique and its applications in the field of industrial engineering. The objective of this research is to carry out a systematic review of the literature to know the applications and uses of this technique of neural networks in industrial engineering. A total of 48 scientific works are included, distributed as follows: 1 in Redib, 7 in Taylor \& Francis, 2 in Springer, 14 in Researchgate, 5 in Scielo, 1 in Dialnet, 3 in Ebsco, 7 in ScienceDirect, 1 in Redalyc, 3 in Google Scholar and 4 in web pages as well as specialized repositories on the subject. Of these scientific works, it was found that ANN are used to predict and help different fields of study of industrial engineering, 10 applications in industry 4.0, 8 for applications in models and 3D analysis, 9 focused on supply chain analysis, 8 in Big Data and 13 applications in additive manufacturing and machine tools.
