Abstract
The objective of this article is to compare historically, based on unpublished and original documentation, two borders recognized in historiography as similar in the processes of conquest and colonization and, particularly, the actions of resistance, negotiation and adaptation of the Indians of the Chaco border and Nuevo Santander, their role as allies, friends and soldiers. It contributes to the debate on the meanings of the colonial borders of the Kingdoms of the West Indies.
