Abstract

The relationship between family functionality and treatment adherence in patients with kidney disease in a Family Medicine Unit located in Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas, is studied. To measure family functionality, the APGAR questionnaire is applied, while adherence to treatment is measured through the Morisky-Green test in a sample of 120 patients, and the Fisher's exact test is used to test this relationship. The results indicate a statistical association between both variables, concluding that family functionality plays an important role in ensuring that renal patients comply with their treatment and improve their quality of life.
