Abstract
The article describes the types of “dangers” that modern social networks can generate for electoral campaigns, since they not only help to achieve better communication with voters, but can also generate a boomerang effect, affecting the chances of success of candidates for a popularly elected position. It is concluded that social networks have become a privileged space in the dispute for political power in modern democracies and that the result of an election depends, to a large extent, on the way in which it is professionally managed and managed. the use of these new tools of political communication.
