Abstract

The countries in Latin America are described under a diversified cultural, social and geographic context, in which social transformations are generated through the intervention of internal and external elements to their economies. The objective of the article is to carry out a theoretical approach to communication systems for social transformation in crisis situations. A theoretical descriptive documentary work was carried out, based on the review of documents and bibliographic material. Obtaining as a result a conceptual approach to communication systems, referenced by new alternatives that society demands, linked to technologies and economic models developed in the countries, they generate social transformations through citizen participation and attention to society and where particular communication is created in crisis contexts where the territorial plays a relevant role. It is concluded that the communication systems their uses generate social transformations and in the context of crisis require particular conditions.
