Structure, operation and promotion in the film industry in Mexico: A look from the film commissions
Abstract
This document is the product of an investigation carried out in 2005. It is a pioneering work in the field of Film Commissions in Mexico. The main objective was to analyze the structure, operation and promotion of the film industry in Mexico, from the conception of the film commissions. The inquiries, based on the consideration of the concept of communication for development and a multiple case study, were through interviews and questionnaires, seeking to present a general vision of an optimization of the film commissions in Mexico; And what has the Mexican audiovisual valued, what are the premises on which its offer is based and what is the external image that may or may not make it attractive in the eyes of the national and global audiovisual industry. It is concluded that Mexico is a country full of vitality with many possibilities, both artistic and economic, and continues to be an attractive place for the filming of films and audiovisual works of any kind.
