Intellectual capital in higher education institutions in Mexico
Abstract
The education landscape is one of great challenges, which oblige the Higher Education Institutions to improve the management practices of the different resources that integrate them, with the aim of improving their level of competitiveness, supported by associations and governmental agencies that seek a significant strengthening of their activities. The aim of this study was to analyze the knowledge management in academic environments based on the analysis of the constructs of the theory of intellectual capital, so it is developed from the analysis of trajectories of Intellectual Capital formed by teachers in the Institutions of Higher Education compared to the results of academic competitiveness obtained. In relation of the period analyzed, the management of the intellectual capital of the Higher Education Institutions in Mexico was identified with a positive and significant impact on their academic competitiveness, a significant and positive relationship in the competitiveness of teachers and the competitiveness of the postgraduate program; which provides a perspective for the development of management strategies within the Universities so that through better academic development policies, it will have a more significant impact on academic competitiveness in the country.
