Design and construction of a nouvelle vertical axis wind turbine experimental platform

Abstract

This paper presents a methodology to design a nouvelle vertical axiswind turbine prototype, which can be used as mechatronic experimental platformfor didactic use. Method engineering is used to plan the construction and assemblyof the prototype, including the mechanical system design using computer aideddesign (CAD), which allows to develop drawings for each component of the entiresystem for visualization before its construction. Then, we can see if all parts fit in asuitable way. The results of this methodology are validated with the wind turbineprototype construction. Experimental test were conducted to obtain the best aerodynamicalconfiguration of the blades. This platform can be used to develop controlalgorithms.
