Abstract
This article explores the conditions of production of knowledge and its relevance, from the perspective of the national researchers of the State of Tamaulipas Mexico. The results presented here come from the research project “Conditions of Academic Productivity in Researchers in Education in the State of Tamaulipas.” The project was funded by the Tamaulipeco Council of Science and Technology (COTACYT) through the call for Tamaulipas-CONACYT Mixed Funds. The objective of this project was to perform an analysis of the academic production of the researchers of the State of Tamaulipas, their production conditions and the impact and translation of them in the academic and educational communities of the State. The methodology presents a multi-method design, the results of the qualitative stage were used as inputs for the quantitative stage. There is no doubt that the conditions of knowledge production have changed dramatically (Gibbons, et al., 1997), the new mode of production of scientific knowledge, Mode 2, has replaced and changed the production of knowledge hitherto known. This new approach to the generation of knowledge entails different mechanisms, transdisciplinarity which in turn raises new contexts of application and use of knowledge. This use of knowledge refers to the relevance of knowledge or the mobility of knowledge.
