Abstract

The use of electronic media used as educational tools is very frequent in human beings, allowing the use of new alternatives in teaching practice and in the educational processes of institutions dedicated to medical education. The objective is to analyze the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the teaching-learning process of medical students. A descriptive, observational and cross-sectional study was carried out. Obtained that 90.83% have a laptop, the time effectively spent for educational activities is between two and four hours, comprehension and command of the English language is between 50 and 75%. Concluding that the use of ICT is highly supportive since it allows them to facilitate searches for scientific and medical information, in addition to developing competences in the processing and handling of information.
